Generosity

Dana is a Pali word that means generosity. On the Mahayana Buddhist path, it is considered the first 'perfection' of the bodhisattva training, and the foundation of all qualities of a spiritual life. Without the spirit of dana, Wonderwell Mountain Refuge would not have come into being. On the basis of generosity and open-hearted giving by individuals like you, Wonderwell is open for the enjoyment of those seeking a peaceful place to retreat, refresh and renew. Ongoing funds are needed to complete renovations, such as a new roof, repairs, and landscaping, and to sustain the property so that it may continue to host group retreats, and personal solo retreats, years into the future. We thank the sangha for engaging in the joyful practice of giving. May all beings benefit!

Ways to Give

Wonderwell is raising money for a new roof!

Wonderwell has been offering retreats to the public, and hosting meditation for the local community for one year now. We are finding ourselves facing our biggest financial challenge yet: funding the replacement of a damaged and aging roof. To replace the most worn side of the roof will cost us $140,000. That sounds like a lot, but we have already raised $40,000, a good start! Won't you help us meet our fundraising goal by next Spring? We have found that every little bit makes a real difference. Your donation will help us protect this beautiful building from the elements, and will help us to continue to offer retreats for the benefit of all.

Donate Nonperishable Food Items

Wonderwell Mountain Refuge is collecting nonperishable food items for the Kearsarge Lake Sunapee Community Food Pantry, located in nearby New London, NH. The pantry is a joint ministry of area churches that assists people in need of food for themselves and their families. We ask that participants in Wonderwell's programs bring an item to donate each time they attend an event. A basket for this purpose will be located in the coat room. Thank you for your generosity.
